Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal Shine in Suns Victory Over Jazz

Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal dominate the Jazz as Suns wrack up another win

In the Thursday night game, the Phoenix Suns, playing at home, secured a 129-115 victory against the Utah Jazz, with Kevin Durant scoring 31 points and Bradley Beal adding 30.

Though Devin Booker was sidelined due to left hip soreness, the Suns managed to comfortably secure the win.

Durant, who also totaled eight rebounds and seven assists, scored 19 points in the first quarter, aiding the Suns in taking a commanding 20-9 lead within the initial five minutes. Phoenix finished the first quarter leading 40-28 and maintained their advantage throughout the game.

For the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen led the scoring with 22 points, supported by John Collins who contributed 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Collin Sexton who chipped in with 19 points and eight assists.

The Suns exhibited exceptional shooting prowess, achieving an impressive 59.1 percent from the field and successfully converting 14 of 29 3-point attempts, securing their third consecutive victory.

Bradley Beal notably contributed to this feat by making six of the Suns’ 3-pointers and adding seven assists to his performance.

Grayson Allen ended the game with a game-high 14 assists, while Eric Gordon scored 19 points, Jusuf Nurkic added 16 points and eight rebounds, and Drew Eubanks contributed 12 points for Phoenix.

During the third quarter, Sexton and Kris Dunn executed back-to-back 3-pointers, enabling Utah to reduce the deficit to three points at 81-78.

However, the Suns responded with a remarkable 13-0 run, culminating in consecutive 3-pointers from Gordon, effectively solidifying their momentum and sealing the victory.

Both teams were involved in trades prior to the deadline.

The Suns acquired Royce O’Neale from the Brooklyn Nets and David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal.

In return, Phoenix sent Keita Bates-Diop, Jordan Goodwin, and second-round draft picks in 2026, 2028, and 2029 to Brooklyn. They also dealt Chimezie Metu and Yuta Watanabe, along with “2026 draft pick considerations,” to Memphis, as stated in a news release.

Meanwhile, Utah agreed to send Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji to Toronto in exchange for Kira Lewis Jr., Otto Porter Jr., and a 2024 first-round pick.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
