Thunder Obliterate Grizzlies, Extend Home Win Streak to 9

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied 23 points to guide the Oklahoma City Thunder to a resounding 124-93 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in a home game on Sunday.
Gilgeous-Alexander achieved a season-best five 3-pointers, shooting 5-for-7 from beyond the perimeter, propelling the Thunder to an early lead they maintained throughout the game.
Oklahoma City continued their impressive performance at home, extending their winning streak to nine games at their home arena, the longest active streak in the NBA.
The Thunder have secured victory in three consecutive games and 10 of their last 12, positioning themselves at the pinnacle of the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies have suffered defeats in consecutive matches and in 16 of their last 20 games.
While Gilgeous-Alexander continued to excel for Oklahoma City, it was the ongoing resurgence of Josh Giddey that played a pivotal role in the Thunder’s quick domination. Giddey contributed to Oklahoma City’s initial 10 points, commencing with a steal from Luke Kennard and converting it into a layup for the first basket of the game, eventually earning a three-point play.
Within the first three minutes of the game, Giddey registered two assists and scored another basket. Giddey concluded the game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
By the midway point of the first quarter, the Thunder had established a lead that was never reduced to less than 11 points. Following halftime, the gap never narrowed beyond 21 points.
Rookie Cason Wallace delivered a career-best 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting in the triumph, while Luguentz Dort garnered 14 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting, including four successful 3-pointers.
The Thunder boasted a 52.7 percent field goal percentage.
The evening proved challenging for Oklahoma City’s Jalen Williams. During the first quarter, Williams twisted his ankle near midcourt, necessitating a visit to the locker room for treatment before returning at the start of the second quarter.
Just under four minutes into the second quarter, Williams penetrated the defense for a layup, maneuvering between Lamar Stevens and Trey Jamison. However, following the shot, he turned his ankle once again while spinning around, inadvertently stepping on a cameraman beneath the basket, resulting in an early exit due to a right ankle sprain.
Rookie GG Jackson led the Grizzlies with a personal best of 30 points.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
