Grayson Allen and the Suns have agreed on a four-year, $70 million contract extension, solidifying the future of one of Phoenix’s premier long-range shooters in the league.

Expected to enter free agency this July, Allen’s new agreement ensures his presence with the Suns after an impressive regular season performance where he led the NBA with a remarkable 46.1% accuracy from beyond the arc.

The terms of this significant deal were confirmed by Allen’s representatives at CAA in a statement provided to ESPN earlier today.

During his inaugural season with Phoenix, Allen contributed an average of 13.4 points per game and played a pivotal role in the team’s offense, especially during periods when key players like Bradley Beal and Devin Booker were sidelined due to injuries.

The 28-year-old Allen was brought to the Suns from the Bucks in the off-season as part of a complex three-team trade that involved significant player movements, including Damian Lillard going to Milwaukee and Deandre Ayton joining the Portland Trail Blazers.

With Allen’s upcoming salary exceeding $15 million for the next season, the Suns are expected to reach the second tier of luxury tax implications, resulting in a substantial financial commitment exceeding $75 million in total payroll and NBA luxury taxes.

Drafted by Utah in 2018, Allen had stints with the Jazz (2018-19), Memphis Grizzlies (2019-21), and the Bucks (2021-23) before eventually landing with Phoenix.
