Indiana Pacers forward Myles Turner expressed on Monday night his anticipation to review the NBA’s Last Two Minute report following a controversial foul call in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference second-round series against the New York Knicks.

Turner may not be pleased with the findings, as the report issued on Tuesday supports the ruling that he violated the rules with an illegal screen, with only 12.7 seconds remaining in Indiana’s 121-117 loss.

The Pacers were trailing by one point and seeking to take the lead when the call was made. Turner made contact with New York’s Donte DiVincenzo, resulting in a foul assessed after an on-site review concurred with the decision.

Now the report does too, saying, “Turner turns into DiVincenzo’s path and does not give him time and distance to change direction prior to the illegal contact.”

A different crucial decision in the final minute, involving Indiana’s Aaron Nesmith, was deemed by the NBA to be incorrect.

The game was deadlocked at 115 with 52.1 seconds remaining when Nesmith was penalized for a kicked ball infraction on a play where Indiana managed to snatch the ball.

Instead, possession was retained by the Knicks, and DiVincenzo successfully converted a go-ahead 3-pointer with 40.4 seconds on the clock, securing the lead for New York, which they maintained till the end.

Lead referee Zach Zarba admitted after the match that the kicked ball call was an error and that the play could not be reviewed.

“Postgame review did show that it hit the defender’s hand, which would be legal,” Zarba said.

Game 2 is set for Wednesday night in New York.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.

In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.

If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
