In the wake of a San Antonio Spurs’ thrilling overtime win, rookie Victor Wembanyama’s enthusiastic act of tossing the ball towards the spectators resulted in a $25,000 sanction from the NBA, as announced by the league on Sunday.

Wembanyama managed to catch a crucial pass as the game clock expired in the Spurs’ 130-126 victory over the New York Knicks and without hesitation, flung the ball into the hands of the crowd.
