LeBron James (25 points) Aids Lakers in Defeating Clippers to Halt Losing Streak

LeBron James contributed 25 points, while Anthony Davis contributed 22 points along with 10 rebounds, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 106-103 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, ending a four-game losing streak.
Immediately after James chastised the recent style of play from his team, the experienced player stepped up by shooting 11 of 19 from the field, securing eight rebounds and providing seven assists. D’Angelo Russell, who returned after missing three games due to a tailbone contusion, scored 13 points from the bench.
This win marked the Lakers’ second victory against the Clippers in the season, breaking an 11-game losing streak against them.
For the Clippers, Paul George and Ivica Zubac each racked up 22 points, but saw their five-game winning streak come to an end. Kawhi Leonard, meanwhile, contributed 15 points but was restricted in the final three minutes due to his minutes restriction for the game.
James Harden, with 15 points and nine assists, felt the first loss with Leonard on the court since Nov. 30, as the Clippers had previously won 14 of their last 16 games with Leonard nursing a hip injury.
The Clippers initially dominated the game, limiting the Lakers to 19 points in the opening quarter and securing a 53-49 lead at halftime.
Yet, the third quarter was all about the Lakers, as they surged ahead with a 32-24 advantage, taking an 81-77 lead. Their lead extended to 94-84 with 8:19 remaining after Anthony Davis’ pull-up jumper.
The Clippers made a comeback, sparking a 9-0 run to reduce the deficit to 94-93 with 6:16 remaining, following a 3-pointer from Norman Powell (14 points). The game was tied at 98-98 with 2:19 left on the clock, as three free throws from Powell, who was fouled from long distance by Taurean Prince, helped the Clippers level the score.
However, Prince, who scored 13 points, redeemed himself with a 3-pointer to take the Lakers to a 101-98 lead with 1:17 remaining. A basket from James further strengthened their lead to 103-98 with 41.9 seconds left. Prince and Austin Reaves collectively scored three free throws in the final 12.3 seconds, while Powell missed a running 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied the game.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
