Grayson Allen showcased his sharpshooting prowess by sinking nine 3-pointers and tallying 32 points to propel the Phoenix Suns to a convincing 115-102 win over the visiting Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Kevin Durant contributed 22 points, while Devin Booker delivered 18 points along with 11 assists and nine rebounds for Phoenix (40-29).

The Suns dominated both offensively and defensively, building a 26-point lead and outplaying the Sixers on the boards with a 55-40 advantage. Royce O’Neale added 13 points, Bol Bol and Jusuf Nurkic each contributed 10 points, with Nurkic also grabbing an impressive 15 rebounds.

Durant, now with a total of 28,610 points, scored efficiently by going 10-of-18 from the field and surpassed Shaquille O’Neal‘s mark of 28,596 points to claim the eighth spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Philadelphia (38-31) was led by Kelly Oubre Jr. who notched 18 points. Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Cameron Payne chipped in with 12 points each, while KJ Martin, and Ricky Council IV added 11 and 10 points respectively. However, Tyrese Maxey struggled to find his rhythm, managing only six points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Allen’s exceptional performance from beyond the arc, shooting 9-of-15 on 3-pointers, played a significant role in maintaining Phoenix’s 24-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Despite a late surge from Philadelphia with a 14-6 run narrowing the gap to 105-93 with 4:39 left, Allen responded with yet another crucial 3-pointer, helping the Suns secure a much-needed victory and tying the season series against the Sixers at one win each.

Oubre made an impactful start by registering seven points in the first quarter against his former team, aiding Philadelphia in taking a 23-21 lead.

The Suns, after a slow start shooting 31% in the first quarter, turned the tide with a 20-6 scoring spree, establishing a solid 50-38 lead with 3:46 remaining in the first half.

With Allen contributing 13 points in the first half, Phoenix dictated the pace and closed the halftime with a comfortable 60-47 advantage. The Suns were remarkable from the 3-point line, shooting 10-of-20, whereas the Sixers struggled at 22.2% (4-of-18) from deep.

In the third quarter, the Sixers attempted to stage a comeback but were thwarted by Phoenix’s dominant performance, particularly a decisive 17-2 run to close the quarter, highlighted by Allen’s layup, extending the Suns’ lead to a commanding 90-66.

Philadelphia faced challenges as Tobias Harris (right ankle sprain), Robert Covington (left knee bruise), and star player Joel Embiid, who has been sidelined for the past 23 games due to a torn meniscus in his left knee, were unavailable for the matchup.
