Donovan Mitchell Highlights vs Spurs

Donovan Mitchell achieved a game-high of 31 points, along with eight rebounds and seven assists, steering the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers to a 117-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.

Evan Mobley contributed 28 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who have triumphed in 13 of their last 14 games. Jarrett Allen gathered 26 points and 16 rebounds for Cleveland, while Caris Levert added 10 points coming off the bench.

Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 22 points, followed by Victor Wembanyama‘s 19 points and 14 rebounds. Keldon Johnson accumulated 17 for San Antonio, which suffered its fourth consecutive loss.

Zach Collins scored 10 points for the Spurs. After San Antonio briefly held the lead in the first quarter, Cleveland went on a 17-5 surge to establish a 27-16 lead with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter.

Jeremy Sochan‘s dunk reduced the Spurs’ deficit to three points at the 8:47 mark of the second quarter, before Cleveland closed the half with a 30-11 run, securing a 67-45 lead at halftime.

Cleveland’s frontcourt players dominated the first half, with Allen achieving 20 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Mobley’s 19 points. The duo combined to make 16-of-20 shots from the field in the opening half.

Mitchell and Levert added 10 points each in the first half for the Cavaliers. Johnson led San Antonio with 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting off the bench in the first half.

Consecutive layups from Allen and Mitchell at the start of the second half extended the Cavaliers’ lead to 26 points. San Antonio answered with a 12-0 scoring spree, including eight points from Vassell that reduced the deficit to 14.

Subsequently, the Cavaliers took control of the game. An 8-2 run aided by a Mitchell 3-pointer and dunk gave Cleveland a 90-67 lead with two minutes left in the third quarter.

Isaac Okoro‘s layup at the third-quarter buzzer made the score 92-71 entering the final quarter.

Holding a 115-98 lead with less than a minute remaining, Mitchell reacted to a hard screen from Collins by pushing Collins, resulting in his ejection from the game.

Cleveland has won six of its last seven games against San Antonio, dating back to April 2021.
