Caitlin Subejano has been an instrumental player throughout the season for Cosumnes Oaks.
The 5-foot-4 junior has emerged as a prolific scorer since stepping into the Wolfpack varsity lineup as a freshman, while also providing robust defensive skills.
Since the beginning of her junior year, she has further solidified her crucial role in the starting lineup each game.
As noted on her player page at MaxPreps.com, Subejano has been averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 67 varsity matches, which includes impressive stats of 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during her junior year. Her peak performance this season came when she scored a fantastic 40 points in a 74-37 victory against River City on December 6, marking the only 40-point game of her career to date.
In the week of January 20-26, Subejano had a standout performance across three games, scoring 15 points in a 67-30 loss to Vista del Lago on January 21. The next day, in a 72-40 defeat against Monterey Trail, she netted 26 points. She concluded the week with a 14-point effort in a 63-53 loss to Pleasant Grove on January 24.
Her strong performances earned her the Northern California girls basketball Athlete of the Week award for the period of January 20-26.

Ruby Cartwright, a senior forward/guard for Sunnyside (Fresno), scored 22 points in a clear 50-31 win over Justin Garza and contributed 15 points during a 45-33 victory against Madera South. She is averaging 18.8 points per game, along with 7.4 rebounds and 5.0 steals per outing, combining for 21 rebounds and 13 steals last week.
Jhai Johnson, a junior forward/guard at Oakland Tech, delivered 18 points in a tightly contested 52-49 win over St. Ignatius on January 20, followed by an impressive 25 points and reached the 100 block milestone in a 73-37 victory over Oakland High School. She is currently averaging 18.4 points per game this season.
Alana Hernandez, a senior guard at Mountain View, showcased her talent with a total of 50 points across two games last week. She scored 24 points, including four three-pointers in a dominant 70-5 victory over MacDonald and netted 26 points in a close win against Gunn (43-35). The 5-foot-3 guard is averaging 20.5 points per game this season.
Aastha Bhagat, a junior guard at Evergreen Valley, led her team with 22 points in a 50-44 victory over Willow Glen. She also contributed as the second leading scorer in a win against Pioneer (52-46), with 15 points. Bhagat is currently averaging 13.8 points per game this year.
