DeMar DeRozan put up 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Nikola Vucevic contributed 24 points and 13 rebounds, propelling the Chicago Bulls to a hard-fought 132-123 double-overtime victory against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Ayo Dosunmu notched 21 points and Andre Drummond tallied 17 points along with a season-high 26 rebounds for Chicago, who started double overtime with a burst of eight consecutive points.

Coby White recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds, with rookie Onuralp Bitim contributing a career-best 10 points to the win.

Chicago dominated the rebound battle against Cleveland, outrebounding them 74-39 and ending a seven-game losing streak against the Cavaliers.

Evan Mobley led Cleveland with 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Darius Garland drained a season-high seven 3-pointers, scoring 23 points. Donovan Mitchell added 19 points, Caris LeVert chipped in 14 points and set a career-high with 15 assists, Isaac Okoro scored 13, and both Jarrett Allen and Max Strus contributed 11 points each.

Vucevic made one of two free throws with 38.4 seconds remaining in regulation to knot the score at 103, sending the game into overtime after DeRozan missed a potential game-winning shot with just two seconds left on the clock.

DeRozan was fouled on a three-point shot attempt with 12.3 seconds left in the first overtime and sank all three free throws to even the score at 115. Mitchell missed a last-second shot that could have secured the win for Cleveland.

Chicago surged to a 127-121 lead in double overtime after Bitim converted two free throws with 34.7 seconds remaining, ultimately clinching the victory. This loss marked Cleveland’s first overtime defeat since May 4, 2021, breaking an 11-game winning streak in overtime.

Cleveland held a 32-23 lead at the close of the first quarter after shooting 51.9% from the field.

The Bulls mounted a comeback in the second quarter, taking a 48-45 lead on Vucevic’s three-pointer with 2:45 left in the half.

Mobley scored 14 points in the first half for Cleveland, as they held a narrow 53-52 lead at halftime. Vucevic led the Bulls with 12 points.

After Chicago surged ahead 74-71 late in the third quarter, Cleveland finished with a 10-4 run to end the period leading 81-78.

Cleveland opened the final quarter with an 11-4 run before the Bulls fought back, narrowing the gap to 97-92 with 5:04 left in the game following Dosunmu’s consecutive 3-pointers.

Chicago played the game without guard Alex Caruso, who was sidelined due to a right hamstring strain.
