Regrettably, Team USA 3×3 faced an untimely departure last weekend. The top-ranked player globally, Jimmer Fredette, encountered a significant injury during the tournament, leading to a challenging situation due to the absence of substitutes.

Nevertheless, we can still acknowledge and honor their dedication, as well as the stylish footwear they showcased. ANTA equipped TEAM USA with exclusive PEs of their leading basketball shoes: the ANTA KAI 1, KAI 1 Speed, KT10 & Shock Wave Pro 6.

Let’s start with the ANTA KAI 1, which remains the standout model in the ANTA Basketball range. Irving’s personalized edition was released in two distinct “Home” & “Away” color schemes in navy & white, featuring various special elements throughout.

A radial sun-inspired motif makes multiple appearances alongside the customary “IRVING” text on the midfoot straps. The shoes are adorned with laces bearing native-inspired graphics, and a see-through confetti-filled sole adds a unique touch.

Next in line is the ANTA KAI 1 Speed, a silhouette that Irving wore during the NBA Finals and is recognized as Drederick Irving’s official “signature sneaker,” as announced when the contract was finalized in June. The two available pairs share many similarities with the original KAI model but feature more prominent ombre effects on the uppers.

The stylistic variances between the KAI 1 and its derivative, the Speed, offer an intriguing perspective. The Speed showcases intricate line-heavy layers in place of the patterns seen on the parent KAI model. The midsole and outsole sections intersect beneath the shoe, with elongated eyestays compared to the traditional KAI 1 design.

In line with the theme of exclusive previews, the upcoming 10th signature shoe of Klay Thompson, the KT10, is showcased here ahead of its anticipated debut in the 2024-25 NBA season. Notable design modifications from its predecessor include an elongated eyestay section dividing the midfoot and security cables extending from it.

While specific performance details are yet to be revealed, the shoe’s aesthetic is sleek, maintaining a predominantly white color scheme with the addition of stars and stripes on the tongues and a navy-to-white graphic appearing in reflective form on the midsole.

Completing this “collection” is ANTA’s flagship Shock Wave 6, featuring a striking geometric design in this particular colorway. The shoe boasts synthetic “teeth” details on the midsole, a geometric pattern carved into the heel counter, and a patriotic sockliner design, all set against a subdued navy mesh base, creating a visually captivating contrast.

Unfortunately, ANTA has confirmed that the featured footwear will remain exclusive to Team USA. Nevertheless, new releases of the ANTA KAI 1 are scheduled for later this year.
