Barlow boys basketball
The Bruins celebrated a decisive 91-46 victory against Reynolds in a Mt. Hood Conference matchup at Barlow, leading longtime head coach Tom Johnson to achieve his 700th career win. With this triumph, the Bruins advanced to a perfect 6-0 in Mt. Hood Conference play and improved to an impressive 16-1 overall this season.
Beaverton girls basketball
In an intense Metro League encounter at Beaverton High School, the Beavers narrowly defeated Jesuit 45-43 in double overtime, securing sole leadership in the league standings with a record of 4-0 (9-9 overall). Dara Oluwafemi standout with a stellar performance, netting 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to lead her team.
Caldera wrestling
The Wolfpack edged out Beaverton, scoring 180 points to win the team title at the Joe Stewart Invitational hosted at Putnam High School. Caldera celebrated the achievement with three individual champions: Jacob Smoker (106 pounds), Jayce Topinka (132), and Denny Dean Jr. (144).
Canby wrestling
The Cougars captured the championship at the Bill Geister Invitational at Clackamas High School, winning the 24-team event with a total of 332 points. Pendleton finished in second place with 249 points. Canby showcased their talent with six individual champions: Dean Williams (126 pounds), Nico Yazzolino (138), Matthew Young (144), James Keinonen (175), Isaiah Parsons (190), and Jackson Doman (215).
Chemawa girls basketball
The Braves clinched their first varsity win since December 1, 2023, ending an 11-game losing streak with a 46-41 win over Delphian in a Tri-River Conference contest held at Chemawa. Freshman Piper Lockwood was pivotal in the victory, scoring a game-high 14 points.
Culver wrestling
At the Bank of Eastern Oregon Invitational at Heppner High School, the Bulldogs emerged victorious, claiming first place among 13 teams with a score of 236.5 points, while Irrigon finished second with 182.5 points. The Bulldogs excelled with five individual champions: Santos Navarro (120 pounds), Cole Rahi (132), Carlos Fernandez (138), Noah Cory (144), and Daltin Taylor (285).
Dallas girls wrestling
The Dragons continued their impressive season by taking the top spot at the Harrisburg All Girls Tournament at Harrisburg High School, finishing with a total of 211.5 points. Crook County followed in second with 130 points. Dallas celebrated two individual champions: Ah Pymm McDaniel (110 pounds) and Polly Olliff (115).
Illinois Valley wrestling
The Cougars showcased their skills by winning the Panther Coastal Clash held at Gold Beach Junior/Senior High School, finishing with a total of 168.5 points. Glendale took second place with 97.5 points. Illinois Valley featured five individual champions: Trevor Langdon (106 pounds), Justin Crowly (113), Garrett White (126), Grit Charitram (132), and Ethan Green (157).
Junction City girls swimming
The Tigers secured a win at a three-team meet held at the Echo Hollow Pool in Eugene, finishing with a total of 455 points. Marist Catholic took second with 400 points, while Lily Jackson excelled by claiming first in both the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, facilitating the Tigers’ victory.
Lake Oswego boys skiing
The Lakers demonstrated remarkable skill in winning the Three Rivers League slalom race at Mt. Hood Meadows, completing the two-run team event in 4 minutes, 16.81 seconds, with Lincoln finishing second at 4:30.60. William Herion achieved the fastest individual time of 1:19.50 during the race.
Lakeview girls wrestling
At the Panther Coast Clash, hosted at Gold Beach Junior/Senior High School, the Honkers secured first place with a score of 89 points, while Rogue River came in second at 69 points. Lakeview’s roster featured two individual champions: Emma Halbleib (100-105 pounds) and Riley Stubb (110-115).
Marist Catholic boys swimming
The Spartans clinched victory at a three-team meet at the Echo Hollow Pool in Eugene, with a total score of 492 points. Philomath secured second place with 343 points. Jonathan McDonough had a standout performance, winning both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races to lead Marist Catholic.
Marshfield wrestling
The Pirates clinched the title at the Junction City Invitational, held at Junction City High School. Marshfield took home first place with a total score of 217 points, closely followed by St. Helens at 201.5. Notably, the Pirates celebrated four individual tournament champions: Garron Castro (106), Charlie Morton (113), Reese Hite (132), and Skylar Folau (285).
Philomath girls basketball
The Warriors edged out Stayton in a nail-biting 27-26 victory, showcasing a matchup between the top two ranked Class 4A teams in the Oregon West Conference at Philomath High School. Sophomore Reagan Heiken made the decisive basket with just 7.1 seconds remaining for the Warriors, who improved to 3-1 in conference play and 14-3 overall this season. Stayton’s record also shifted to 3-1 in conference and 17-1 overall.
Redmond girls basketball
The Panthers celebrated two significant wins in Intermountain Conference action, overpowering Ridgeview at home with a score of 49-8 and securing a commanding 73-30 victory at Bend, led by senior Dylan Cheney’s 24 points. As a result of these victories, Redmond improved to 3-0 in conference play and holds a season record of 12-5.
Riverside girls wrestling
The Pirates secured the championship at the Bank of Eastern Oregon Girls Invitational held at Heppner High School. Riverside dominated the tournament with a score of 94 points, leaving Heppner behind at 57. The Pirates celebrated five individual tournament champions: Mayte Pacheco (105 pounds), Adalia Chavez (115), Megan Wiseman (130), Katelyn Wiseman (140), and Rebecca Wiltberger (170).
Santiam Christian wrestling
The Eagles achieved victory at the Howell Invitational held at Monroe High School. Santiam Christian topped the event with an impressive score of 296 points, with Oakland trailing in second at 125. The Eagles boasted six individual tournament champions: Conway Montgomery (126 pounds), Cash Nelson (132), Sam Schmidgall (138), River Nygren (150), Kamran Ness (157), and Jeremy Ness (165).
Sherwood wrestling
The Bowmen took the top spot at the Jack Berger Invitational held at Silverton High School. They emerged victoriously in the 20-team event, scoring 273.5 points, while Sandy came in second with 261 points. Sherwood had two individual tournament champions: Caden Burnett (106 pounds) and Grayson Fabrycki (150).
South Medford boys swimming
The Panthers swam to victory with a 108-74 win over rival North Medford during a Southwest Conference dual meet at the Rogue X complex in Medford. Devon Scott excelled in the 50-yard freestyle, while Joe Pastrano won the 100 butterfly, Kenton Fine claimed top honors in the 500 freestyle, and Logan Casper secured victory in the 100 backstroke for the Panthers.
Southridge girls wrestling
The Skyhawks achieved success at the Jack Berger Invitational, where they topped the 16-team tournament with a score of 154.5 points. Hillsboro followed in second place with 141 points.
St. Helens girls wrestling
The Lions rose to the occasion to capture the team title at the Bill Geister Invitational, hosted at Clackamas High School. St. Helens edged out the competition with a score of 167 points, while Centennial took second place with 140. The Lions celebrated two individual tournament champions: Kallee Kester (140 pounds) and Jadyn Pense (170).
Thurston boys basketball
The Colts maintained their perfect record in Midwestern League play by defeating Churchill 58-41 in an essential league match. Senior Noah Blair shone with 18 points to lead Thurston, who also notched a 55-42 conference victory over Ashland. The Colts now stand at 6-0 in conference play and 15-3 overall this season.
Wells girls skiing
The Guardians triumphed at the Three Rivers League slalom race at Mt. Hood Meadows, securing first place with a two-run team time of 4 minutes, 58.79 seconds. Lakeridge secured the second position with a time of 5:08.34. Leila Loriaux also made her mark by finishing third in the individual standings at 1:29.32, contributing to the team’s overall success.
Western Christian boys basketball
The Pioneers recorded a resounding 79-41 victory over Regis, with Gavin Hall leading the charge with 29 points, and following it up with an 87-30 blowout at home against Colton in Tri-Valley Conference play, extending their winning streak to 12. Class 2A Western Christian’s record now stands at 11-0 in conference play and 17-3 overall, with their only losses coming against Class 6A teams Oregon City, West Salem, and Sprague.
Wilsonville boys basketball
The Wildcats secured their 11th consecutive victory by defeating La Salle Prep 78-55 in a Northwest Oregon Conference matchup at Wilsonville High School. Senior guard Cole Hammack was instrumental in the win, scoring 31 points, which propelled the Wildcats to an impressive 8-0 record in NWOC play and 15-2 overall this season.
