Prepare for an influx of Swoosh branding on the jerseys of your favorite NBA teams until 2037, as Nike has made an official announcement regarding a substantial 12-year extension of its collaboration with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League—this partnership originally kicked off in the 2017-2018 season.

Nike will maintain its role as the exclusive supplier of on-court uniforms and apparel for the NBA, unveiling fresh designs across its lineup of jerseys, which include the Association Edition, Icon Edition, Statement Edition, City Edition, and Classic Edition.

The first three editions usually represent the primary color palette of each franchise, while the Classic Edition honors significant milestones and anniversaries. The City Edition, in particular, provides a distinctive alternative that weaves in elements of local culture and iconic landmarks.

During an official presentation held at Nike’s headquarters in New York City on October 21st, the brand hosted a series of panel discussions facilitated by ESPN’s Monica McNutt. Notable attendees included Nike, Inc. CEO Elliott Hill, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, as well as athletes like Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, and Sue Bird, along with several Nike vice presidents.

They focused on Nike’s commitment to nurturing the growth of basketball through this enduring partnership. Several prominent figures, including Caitlin Clark, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, participated via Zoom.

Beyond being the official outfitter for the NBA, Nike is dedicated to fostering youth basketball by launching programs and resources designed for young athletes, enhancing accessibility for boys and girls at all skill levels. Nike will also play a prominent role in major league events, including All-Star celebrations, the NBA/WNBA Draft, Summer League, and other significant activities.
