Stephen Curry scored 22 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, helping the Golden State Warriors secure a 100-92 win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

Contributing to the victory were Jonathan Kuminga with 19 points, and Andrew Wiggins with 15, as the Golden State team (45-35) celebrated their ninth win in 10 matches. Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis also made a significant impact with 10 points, eight rebounds, and a career-matching four blocks.

This win puts the Warriors in contention for a place in the No. 7 vs No. 8 game in the Western Conference play-in round. They will face off against the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers, all sharing identical records with two regular-season games remaining.

Notably absent from the game were Warriors’ stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green due to knee injuries.

Portland’s efforts were led by Deandre Ayton with 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Scoot Henderson with 18 points and 12 assists, yet they could not escape defeat as they lost for the 13th time in the last 15 matches. Jabari Walker added 17 points and 16 rebounds, while Kris Murray contributed 14 points.

Struggling with their shooting, Portland managed only 36.1 percent from the field, including a mere 8 of 34 (23.5 percent) from beyond the arc. Henderson’s nine turnovers in this game added to his recent count of 17 over the past two matches.

Kevon Looney‘s 11 rebounds significantly contributed to Golden State’s victory, as they shot 46.8 percent from the field and made 12 of 35 (34.3 percent) from three-point range. The Warriors dominated the season series against Portland, winning all four games and 10 out of the last 11 encounters.

Portland held a slim lead of 85-79 after a 3-pointer by Murray with 9:09 left in the game, but then struggled for 6 minutes and 37 seconds without a field goal.

Responding with a strong 16-1 run, Golden State turned the tide. Curry’s 17-footer tied the score at 86 with 6:25 remaining, and Looney’s free throw put the Warriors in the lead with 5:06 left.

Curry’s 3-pointer extended the lead to 90-86 with 4:42 to go, followed by a feed to Looney for a layup, making it a six-point advantage with 3:26 remaining. Podziemski’s three-point play boosted the lead to 95-86 with 3:03 to go.

Portland ended their scoring drought with Ayton’s basket at 2:32, breaking a streak of nine consecutive misses.

A final 3-pointer by Chris Paul sealed the 100-90 victory for Golden State with 1:04 remaining.

At halftime, Curry and Kuminga led the charge with 11 points each, propelling Golden State to a 49-46 lead. Ayton had 15 points in the half for Portland.

Entering the fourth quarter, the Warriors held a narrow 75-74 advantage.
