Gary Trent Jr. hit 7-of-15 shots from beyond the arc for 31 points. The Milwaukee Bucks were without their key player Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Toronto Raptors secured a 117-111 victory, putting an end to their second-longest losing streak in team history.

Heading into Milwaukee, Toronto (24-53) had suffered 15 consecutive losses, narrowly escaping an organization record set back in the 1997-98 season.

With Trent matching his highest points of the season, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley also contributed significantly with 26 and 25 points each, leading the Raptors to break their streak of defeats.

Quickley almost achieved a triple-double, securing 11 rebounds and providing nine assists.

His last rebound came in traffic after a missed 3-point shot by Khris Middleton, preventing Milwaukee from taking the lead with only 19 seconds left on the clock.

Out of the three losses the Bucks suffered during their recent rough patch, each was against teams already out of playoff contention, including defeats against Washington and Memphis earlier in the week.

The previous two losses narrowed Milwaukee’s lead over Cleveland for the second seed in the Eastern Conference to only 1 1/2 games before Friday. However, with Damian Lillard making a return, the Bucks surged ahead with a 10-point lead in the first half against Toronto.

Lillard, absent in the previous three games which resulted in losses against the Wizards and Grizzlies, made a stellar comeback by scoring 36 points and providing six assists.

Middleton contributed 21 points and six assists, Bobby Portis added 19 points along with 10 rebounds off the bench, and Brook Lopez concluded with 14 points.

Rookie Gradey Dick extended his streak of scoring in double figures to five games with 10 points from the bench, while Kelly Olynyk added 12 points, contributing to Toronto’s first victory since March 3.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
