Paul George caught fire from beyond the arc, sinking eight 3-pointers en route to a season-best 41 points as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Charlotte Hornets 130-118 on Sunday night.

Ivica Zubac amassed 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Kawhi Leonard contributed 23 points for the leading Los Angeles team of the Pacific Division, shooting an impressive 57.3 percent from the field. Norman Powell chipped in 16 points and Russell Westbrook added 11 points off the Clippers’ bench.

The Clippers (47-27) are riding their first three-game winning streak since their four consecutive victories from Jan. 31-Feb. 5.

Miles Bridges poured in 33 points and Brandon Miller scored 22 points for the Hornets (18-56), who suffered their seventh loss in the last eight games. Grant Williams contributed 18 points and Davis Bertans added 15 points off the bench.

George went 14-for-21 from the field, 8-for-12 from downtown, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, scoring the final two points of the game with successful free throws at 43.1 seconds remaining. His previous season high was 38 points against Oklahoma City on Jan. 16.

James Harden, the guard for Los Angeles, was limited to just six points but showcased his playmaking ability by dishing out 10 assists.

Although the Hornets shot 50 percent from the field, the offensive efficiency of the Clippers, who held a lead of up to 19 points, prevented Charlotte from mounting sustained comebacks.

With a 100-84 advantage at the 10-minute mark, the Clippers saw their lead shrink to 111-105 after Miller’s 3-point shot with 5:24 remaining. However, George responded with a basket for the Clippers, and subsequent baskets by Powell extended the margin back to double digits.

Los Angeles converted 30 of 34 free throws, with Zubac going a perfect 10-for-10, while the Hornets went 7-for-11 from the charity stripe.

During the first half, the Clippers steadily asserted their dominance, establishing a 67-55 lead by halftime.

Los Angeles has emerged victorious in five of their last seven games and boasts a road record of 25-14.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
