In a display of strong defense, Klay Thompson achieved 28 points with an impressive 11-of-20 shooting performance as the Golden State Warriors exhibited one of their top defensive displays this season in a commanding 113-92 victory over the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
Having arrived at the Tuesday encounter after experiencing a two-game losing streak, Golden State controlled the majority of the game and asserted dominance during the final quarter. They limited Miami to a mere 6-of-22 shooting in the period, extending their lead to 22 points in the process.
Miami struggled, shooting 37 of 92 in the game, with a poor 8 of 33 (24 percent) from beyond the arc. Despite Bam Adebayo‘s team-best 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting, and Haywood Highsmith‘s 15 points off the bench with an impressive 6-of-7 shooting, including 3 of 3 from long distance.
The other double-digit scorers from Miami – Jaime Jaquez Jr. with 12 points, Nikola Jovic with 11, Terry Rozier with 15, and Caleb Martin with 15 – all shot 40 percent or lower.
This marked the third fewest points Golden State has conceded this season. They hold a perfect 6-0 record when limiting opponents to under 100 points.
On the flip side, Miami has suffered defeats in their previous four games in which they failed to surpass 92 points.
Golden State faced challenges with their 3-point shooting, notably Stephen Curry‘s unusual 3 of 10 performance, contributing 17 points overall. Despite a collective 13-of-38 effort from beyond the arc, the Warriors shot a solid 47 of 85 (55.3 percent) from the field overall.
Golden State outperformed Miami 52-46 in the paint and gained a 13-6 lead in second-chance points.
Jonathan Kuminga provided 18 points for the Warriors, securing seven rebounds, three of which were offensive. Andrew Wiggins contributed 17 points and an additional seven rebounds, while Draymond Green concluded with nine rebounds and eight assists.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
