Bam Adebayo delivered 22 points, nine rebounds and three blocks to help the Miami Heat break a four-game losing streak by securing a 108-95 victory over the Detroit Pistons at home on Friday.
Contributing to Miami’s triumph were Caleb Martin with 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, Terry Rozier with 18 points, Duncan Robinson with 16 points and five assists, and Jimmy Butler with 14 points.
For the Pistons (12-54), Simone Fontecchio led with 24 points, followed by Jalen Duren contributing 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Jaden Ivey with 14 points and nine assists.
Evan Fournier scored 12 points for Detroit, while Cade Cunningham managed only 11 points on 5-of-15 shooting, despite tallying nine assists.
Miami held a slim 56-54 lead at halftime, led by Adebayo’s 16 points and seven rebounds, with the team’s 3-point shooters converting just 3 of 16 attempts.
Fontecchio led the Pistons with 16 points at halftime, while Duren had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Neither team had a lead greater than eight points in the first half.
Miami extended their lead to 64-56 early in the second half courtesy of two baskets by Adebayo from passes by Robinson.
Although Duren’s layup cut the deficit to 68-65 with 6:18 to go in the third quarter, Miami bolstered their defense and went on a 15-0 scoring run.
Rozier started the scoring spree with six consecutive points, followed by three back-to-back 3-pointers from Robinson in a span of 48 seconds, with steals preceding the last two long-range shots.
Despite a 7-1 late surge by the Pistons, Miami maintained an 84-72 lead heading into the final quarter.
Butler opened the fourth quarter with a score, and a dunk by Thomas Bryant from a pass by Jaime Jaquez Jr. extended Miami’s lead to 94-79 with 8:16 remaining in the game.
Martin then added to the lead with consecutive scores in the middle of the quarter, before Bryant pushed the advantage past 20 points with a short jumper at the 5:02 mark.
The two teams are scheduled to face off again in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
