The Orlando Magic, led by Franz Wagner’s 19 points, emerged victorious against the short-handed Toronto Raptors with a score of 113-103 on Friday night.

Paolo Banchero contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists for Orlando, who have triumphed in 10 out of their last 13 matchups.

Both squads will clash again in Orlando on Sunday, with the Magic having clinched victories in the initial two face-offs.

Jalen Suggs tallied 16 points, while Wendell Carter Jr. and Cole Anthony added 15 and 12 points, respectively. Jonathan Isaac also chipped in with 10 points for Orlando (39-28).

Despite Gary Trent Jr.’s season-best performance of 31 points, the Raptors suffered their sixth consecutive loss.

Jordan Nwora recorded 14 points, Bruce Brown contributed 12, and Immanuel Quickley, Kelly Olynyk, and Jahmi’us Ramsey each scored 10 points for Toronto (23-44).

Entering the final quarter with an 11-point advantage, Orlando swiftly extended their lead to 91-75, courtesy of Isaac’s layup. Anthony’s three-pointer further widened the gap to 19 points with 8:42 remaining.

Although the Raptors cut the deficit to seven points with a Gradey Dick layup, a crucial 3-pointer by Suggs pushed the lead back to 11. Wagner sealed the deal with two free throws, boosting the lead to 15 with 2:59 left.

Toronto managed to overturn an early nine-point shortfall, concluding the first quarter with a 27-24 edge. Their momentum continued into the second quarter with a 10-4 surge, only to be countered by the Magic’s seven unanswered points.

Taking a slender one-point lead with 5:30 left in the second quarter on Wagner’s layup, Orlando maintained their lead by halftime after Banchero’s successful free throws, making it 50-48.

The Magic kicked off the third quarter with an 8-3 run, culminating in a thunderous dunk by Suggs that handed them a 10-point advantage with 8:48 on the clock.

Despite efforts from Trent, who scored four consecutive points to trim the deficit to six, and Agbaji’s dunk reducing it to four, Nwora’s eight straight points propelled Toronto to a temporary two-point lead with 4:26 remaining.

In response, Orlando launched a blistering 14-0 run to surge ahead by 12 points. The lead stretched to 13 before Dick’s layup marked the conclusion of the third quarter, reducing Toronto’s deficit to 84-73.

Notable absences for Toronto included Scottie Barnes (left hand), RJ Barrett (personal), Chris Boucher (right knee), DJ Carton (right ankle), and Jakob Poeltl (finger).
