LeBron James showcased his prowess by securing 34 points, with a notable 19 coming in the final quarter, while Anthony Davis contributed with 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers, playing as visitors, orchestrated an impressive comeback to clinch a 116-112 win over the undermanned Los Angeles Clippers.

The Lakers were spearheaded by D’Angelo Russell‘s 18 points and Rui Hachimura‘s 17, effectively outshining the Clippers for the majority of the game. This victory marked the Lakers’ third win in four encounters against the Clippers this season, breaking a streak that had favored the Clippers since 2011-12.

James showcased his shooting capabilities in the fourth quarter, hitting 7 out of 12 shots from the field, including 5 successful 3-pointers, ultimately outscoring the entire Clippers team by a significant margin in the crucial final period.

As the teams engaged in their final regular-season clash at the shared Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, both organizations are gearing up for a significant change as the Clippers are scheduled to relocate to the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., commencing from the forthcoming season.

Despite strong efforts from Kawhi Leonard, who managed to put up 26 points, and James Harden, contributing 23 points, the Clippers fell short against the Lakers, suffering their fifth loss in the last eight games. In the waning moments, Leonard had an opportunity to level the score but his shot, defended by James, fell short.

Key contributions from Terance Mann, with 16 points, and Norman Powell, with 14, were not sufficient for the Clippers, who were missing the services of Paul George due to a knee injury for the second consecutive game, along with Ivica Zubac who was out due to an illness.

The Clippers maintained a solid lead throughout the third quarter, stretching it to 21 points early in the fourth. However, a remarkable 19-3 surge orchestrated by the Lakers closed the gap, bringing the score to 101-96 in favor of the Clippers with 7:33 remaining.

With a series of sensational plays, including a pivotal 3-pointer from James, the Lakers brought the game to a tie at 106-106. Subsequently, a clutch 3-pointer from Hachimura catapulted the Lakers into the lead at 109-106, setting the stage for a thrilling final stretch.

Culminating in a dominant 12-0 run, Hachimura’s reverse layup extended the Lakers’ lead to 111-106 with 2:26 left on the clock. Russell further widened the gap with a crucial 3-pointer, securing a 114-108 lead with only 1:12 remaining.

LeBron James’ phenomenal 19-point outburst in the final period stood as his highest scoring quarter in the ongoing season, solidifying his status as a game-changer for the Lakers.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
