Kings’ Stars Propel Victory Against Bulls

KINGS at BULLS

De’Aaron Fox accumulated 41 points, Domantas Sabonis achieved his 14th triple-double of the season with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, and the Sacramento Kings advanced to 5-1 on their seven-game road trip with a 123-115 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Fox contributed 14 points in a frantic fourth quarter, in which Sacramento resisted a furious Chicago rally. The Bulls were behind by as much as 30 in the third quarter before a 29-9 surge reduced the deficit to 91-81 going into the final period.

Chicago narrowed the gap to within one possession in the last minute led by the trio of Coby White, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic.

White scored 12 of his team-leading 26 points in the fourth quarter, while DeRozan and Vucevic collectively scored 11 consecutive Bulls points in a span of nearly three minutes.

DeRozan connected on a jump shot with 59 seconds remaining that brought Chicago to within three points. However, after a pair of Fox free throws increased the lead back to five, Sabonis effectively contested DeRozan at the rim, sealing the game for Sacramento.

DeRozan and Vucevic each concluded with 24 points. DeRozan secured seven rebounds, distributed six assists and produced four steals. Vucevic led Chicago with 12 rebounds.

Ayo Dosunmu was the lone other Bull to reach double figures with 18 points.

Malik Monk (22 points) and Trey Lyles (16 points) came off the bench and excelled for the Kings. Monk also amassed seven assists and five rebounds.

Harrison Barnes scored four of his 11 points in the final 1:10, including a significant pull-up jump shot that preserved Sacramento’s lead at two possessions down the stretch.

The Kings made 15-of-39 from 3-point range, which significantly impacted the game. Chicago concluded 11-of-34 from beyond the arc.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
