Indiana Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton Leaves Game Early After Bad Leg Injury

On January 8, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, in the first half at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton (0) was seen attempting to distribute the ball while being defended by Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard (11) as he left the match due to a left hamstring injury.

On Monday night against the visiting Boston Celtics, in the second quarter, star guard Tyrese Haliburton had to leave the game due to a strain in his left hamstring. The injury occurred as Haliburton was making a move towards the net and suddenly stopped, which resulted in him slipping and going into a split. This caused him to immediately hold his left thigh in pain and roll over, prompting his teammates to assist him back to the locker room with 3:10 remaining in the first half.

At halftime, the Indiana team declared that Haliburton would not be returning for the remainder of the game.

Prior to leaving the match, Haliburton had contributed seven points and six assists in 13 minutes of play.

Before Monday, Haliburton had been maintaining an average of 24.2 points, the highest on the team, and 12.7 assists, the most in the league, across 32 games (all starts). This is his third season with Indiana following a trade from the Sacramento Kings in February 2022.

As of Monday’s halftime, the Pacers were behind by nine points, with the score at 68-59 in favor of the Boston Celtics.
