Stephen Curry Propels Warriors Past Magic to Halt Skid

Scoring a game-high 36 points and delivering a team-high six assists, Stephen Curry aided the Golden State Warriors in breaking a three-game losing streak by defeating the Orlando Magic 121-115 on Tuesday night in San Francisco. Jonathan Kuminga contributed 19 points, including a dunk that extended Golden State’s lead to 110-101 with 2:29 to go.
The Warriors, who had suffered defeats at the hands of the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks at the beginning of a seven-game homestand, secured the victory by making nine free throws with a little over a minute left in the game. Curry, shooting 12-for-20 from the field, and Klay Thompson, who made 6-for-11, added 15 points for Golden State, outshooting Orlando by 53.8 percent to 44.6 percent.
Following Franz Wagner’s basket with 8:33 to go, the Magic had surged ahead with a score of 93-92. However, Thompson responded with a 3-pointer, ensuring the Warriors held on to the lead. Despite Goga Bitadze dunking to bring the Warriors’ lead down to 106-101 with 3:02 left, Curry’s assist led to a 3-pointer by Thompson, and a basket by Kuminga, giving Golden State a comfortable nine-point cushion. Curry’s contributions continued with 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Kuminga concluded with six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in the triumph. Adding to the scoreline, Chris Paul contributed 12 points, while Trayce Jackson-Davis, Brandin Podziemski, and Andrew Wiggins each tallied 10 points.
For Orlando, Paolo Banchero registered 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Wagner contributed 25 points. Although Banchero attempted 8-of-20 shots, and Wagner 10-of-19, they were at the forefront of Orlando’s efforts. Bitadze and Moe Wagner both managed 12 and 10 points respectively. Also, Jalen Suggs added 10 points for the Magic, who have faced defeat in seven of their last 10 games.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
