Injury Plagued Mavericks Aim to Rebound Against Struggling Spurs

The clash between the Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night in Dallas, will witness both teams carrying three-game losing streaks.

Dallas is still recovering from a 122-96 defeat to the Houston Rockets, with Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Dexter Dennis making significant contributions with 20 and 18 points respectively from the bench.

In their recent game, Dallas faced multiple absences due to injuries, with key players such as Luka Doncic, Dante Exum, Josh Green, Maxi Kleber, and Dereck Lively II unable to play. Their availability for the upcoming game is uncertain and will be decided closer to the match.

The absence of Kyrie Irving has also impacted the team’s performance, with Dallas posting a 3-4 record in the seven games he has missed.

Coach Jason Kidd expressed concerns about Doncic’s workload and the toll it’s taking on him, acknowledging that the team is struggling to find an effective replacement when Doncic is not on the court.

San Antonio, coming off a 114-95 loss to the Chicago Bulls, looks to improve their scoring, with Devin Vassell leading the team with 21 points in their recent game.

The Spurs, currently at the bottom of the Western Conference, will face a tough challenge against the Mavericks, as they aim to reverse their disappointing form which has seen them lose 21 of their last 22 games.

The Mavericks previously defeated the Spurs 126-119 in the season opener on Oct. 25.
