Celtics Easily Sweep Aside Magic While Jaylen Brown Racks Up 31 Points

On Sunday, the Boston Celtics secured a 114-97 victory over the Orlando Magic, with Jaylen Brown delivering an impressive 31-point performance. The Celtics are making strides towards a historic season, having won their first 14 home games, a feat only achieved once before in franchise history by the 1957-58 Celtics who started 18-0 at home.

Brown’s standout performance saw him scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter and finishing with 12-for-20 shooting from the field. Contributing to the victory was Jayson Tatum with 23 points and eight rebounds, and Kristaps Porzingis with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

On the Magic’s side, Paolo Banchero led with 36 points and 10 rebounds, while Jalen Suggs added 13 points. Despite their efforts, Orlando only managed to convert 38.2 percent of their shots and suffered their second loss to the Celtics in three days.

The Magic attempted a resurgence in the third quarter, reducing an 11-point halftime deficit to 69-65. However, Boston maintained control with key plays from Porzingis and Tatum, ensuring an 83-74 lead heading into the final quarter.

Jaylen Brown’s dominant performance in the fourth quarter further extended Boston’s lead to 103-86, effectively securing the win. After a slow start in the first quarter, Boston took command in the second quarter, finishing the first half with a 61-50 lead.

Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.

Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
