Boston Celtics Beat Orlando Magic, Extending Their Perfect Home Record to 14-0

On Sunday, the Boston Celtics secured a 114-97 triumph over the Orlando Magic, with Jaylen Brown delivering a stellar 31-point display to help his team inch closer to a historic milestone.
The Celtics are now 14-0 at home, a feat that has only been achieved once before in the franchise’s history during the 1957-58 season when they started with an 18-0 record on their home court.
Displaying outstanding form, Brown scored 17 points in the final quarter and finished the game with 12-for-20 shooting from the field. Jayson Tatum contributed 23 points and eight rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis notched 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Paolo Banchero put up an impressive 36 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Orlando Magic, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory as they suffered their second defeat to the Celtics in three days, following a 128-111 loss on Friday.
Suns Stage Comeback to Defeat Wizards
Phoenix completed an impressive comeback against the Washington Wizards, overturning a 16-point deficit to emerge victorious with a score of 112-108. Devin Booker played a pivotal role in the fourth quarter, contributing 11 of his 27 points to lead the Suns’ offensive charge.
The Suns’ defense also played a crucial role, limiting the Wizards to 7-of-27 shooting in the final quarter, leading to their remarkable turnaround. Kevin Durant top-scored for the Wizards with 28 points, but it wasn’t enough to thwart the Suns’ resurgence.
In addition, Daniel Gafford put on a remarkable performance for the Wizards, recording a career-best 26 points and 17 rebounds.
New Orleans Pelicans Set Franchise Record in Win Over San Antonio Spurs
The New Orleans Pelicans achieved a major milestone, setting a franchise record by making 22 3-pointers out of 42 attempts on their way to a comprehensive 146-110 victory over the struggling San Antonio Spurs. CJ McCollum led the charge with 29 points, displaying exceptional accuracy by sinking six of his seven 3-point attempts. Brandon Ingram contributed 26 points, while Jose Alvarado and Jonas Valanciunas added 16 and 15 points respectively, with Valanciunas also securing an impressive 16 rebounds.
On the other side, despite a strong showing from Victor Wembanyama with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks, the Spurs couldn’t halt their disappointing run, suffering their 19th loss in the last 20 games after previously ending their 18-game losing streak with a win against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Milwaukee Bucks Extend Winning Streak Against Houston Rockets
In a high-scoring battle, the Milwaukee Bucks emerged victorious with a 128-119 win against the Houston Rockets. Damian Lillard led the charge for the Bucks with an impressive 39 points and 11 assists, supported by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 26 points and 17 rebounds, as well as Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez’s contributions of 20 and 18 points respectively.
While Fred VanVleet led the scoring for the Rockets with 22 points, and Alperen Sengun showcased his all-around ability with 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, the Rockets’ five-game winning streak came to an end in the face of the Bucks’ relentless offensive display.
Golden State Warriors Secure Win Over Portland Trail Blazers
The Golden State Warriors emerged triumphant with a 118-114 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, with Klay Thompson delivering an outstanding performance, scoring 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Andrew Wiggins made a significant impact off the bench, contributing 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while Warriors star Stephen Curry, uncharacteristically, scored just seven points and missed all eight of his 3-point attempts, ending his NBA record streak of 268 consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer.
For the Trail Blazers, Jerami Grant led the scoring with 30 points, and Anfernee Simons bounced back from a scoreless first half to finish with 24 points.

The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
