The Wolves Continue Their Winning Streak as Grizzlies Fall to 0-8 On Home Turf

Anthony Edwards achieved 24 points, and Minnesota held the hosts Memphis to only 38.6 percent shooting from the field. This led to the Timberwolves defeating the Grizzlies with a 119-97 victory on Sunday, marking the Grizzlies’ fourth consecutive loss.
Minnesota never fell behind and secured a lead of up to 26 points. They took charge with an 18-4 run in the second quarter, during which the Grizzlies experienced a four-minute scoreless period. Despite their efforts, Memphis, who has suffered losses in all eight home games, couldn’t reduce the deficit to less than 16 points until midway through the fourth quarter.
The Grizzlies managed to narrow the gap to 12 points with less than six minutes remaining on consecutive 3-pointers by Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane. However, Minnesota swiftly responded with eight quick points to extend their lead back to 20.
Every Minnesota player who participated in the game contributed to the score, with five players reaching double-digit points. Mike Conley’s 6-of-9 3-point shooting led to the team’s 44.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc, helping him finish with 18 points and 10 assists, the most in the game.
Karl-Anthony Towns secured 18 points on 7-of-11 field shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Rudy Gobert contributed 13 points, and Naz Reid, coming off the bench, added 12 points and six rebounds. Kyle Anderson, Shake Milton, and Troy Brown Jr. each scored six points as substitutes.
Jackson led Memphis with 18 points and three blocked shots, Bane scored 13, and Santi Aldama contributed 14 points with seven rebounds. Derrick Rose, David Roddy, and Ziaire Williams all achieved double-digit scores from the bench, with Rose leading with 12 points and Roddy and Williams contributing 11 each.
Minnesota, coming off a loss against Sacramento on Friday, has yet to suffer consecutive losses and has won 11 of its last 13 games.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
