The star player for the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid, is anticipated to make a return this week following a left knee injury sustained towards the end of January, as per a report by ESPN on Monday.
The upcoming game for the 76ers is scheduled for Tuesday evening against Oklahoma City. His availability for this home match will be disclosed later today, according to the report. The 76ers, with a record of 40-35, currently hold the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference and have seven games left to play.
Embiid, aged 30, has been out of action since colliding with Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga on January 30. He underwent a procedure to address his meniscus injury on February 6.
Philadelphia has an impressive 26-8 record when Embiid is on the court this season, a stark contrast to their 11-18 record in his absence since the injury.
Embiid holds the title of the NBA’s Most Valuable Player from the previous season. His scoring average of 35.3 points per game this season would place him at the top of the league if he had met the minimum games requirement, and his rebounding rate of 11.3 per game would position him in the top 10.

Wolves C Rudy Gobert (Personal) Uncertain for Game 2
The Impact of Rudy Gobert's Absence Against the Nuggets in Game 2
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert’s availability is questionable for the upcoming Game 2 happening on Monday night in Denver for personal reasons.
In the opener of the Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday, Gobert played a significant role by contributing six points, grabbing 13 rebounds, making three blocks, and assisting three times in the team’s 106-99 victory.
Being a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Star, Gobert maintained an average of 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 76 games during the regular season.
Standing tall at 7-foot-1, the 31-year-old Gobert has an overall average of 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks throughout his career in 757 games for the Utah Jazz (2013-22) and the Timberwolves.
If Gobert is unable to play against the reigning champions, Naz Reid, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season, may step into the starting lineup.
